Gears of War Ultimate Edition was announced back at E3 for Xbox One and PC, with an August 28 release date.

Sadly for PC gamers, this date only applies to the Xbox One version.

“Gears on Win10 is later than Xbox One version”, Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealed, responding to a fan question on Twitter. How much later, however, remains to be seen.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a complete remake of the original game with 1080p visuals and 60fps multiplayer across 19 maps and six game modes. In addition there will be five campaign chapters new to console gamers. The Windows 10 version will support up to 4K resolution and an unlocked frame rate.

You can pre-order Gears of War Ultimate Edition now.
