Warhammer owner Games Workshop is doing better than ever with the company hitting its best profit ever following the release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. As Games Workshop teases Saber Interactive’s Space Marine 3, the company confirms that it will not be able to reveal anything about Amazon Prime’s upcoming TV series.
Confirmed in the company’s latest financials report, Games Workshop explained that the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 TV series, helmed by Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill, needs to be revealed on Amazon’s schedule.

Games Workshop can’t reveal Amazon Warhammer series
In the report, Games Workshop explained that it may still be “several years” until the Warhammer 40,000 TV series is revealed, but the show is part of a “long-term partnership” with Amazon. This likely means that multiple seasons are already planned which backs up previous claims by executive producer Henry Cavill.
“We have great partners who continue to display their commitment to present Warhammer authentically and at the scope and scale befitting our fantastical setting,” the company said. “This is a long-term partnership with Amazon and there won’t be any significant news in the short term — these things take several years to bring to market.”
While many have hoped that Games Workshop would reveal more information to shareholders in its recent reports, the company confirmed that the contract with Amazon means Amazon will reveal all details regarding the series.
“The project continues in line with our contractual agreement with Amazon,” Games Workshop continued. “This same contract prohibits us from sharing any specific details or commercial terms.”
Nevertheless, Amazon’s Warhammer TV project does appear to be progressing well after years of pre-production. At the time of writing, the show appears to still be in the planning phase with Henry Cavill explaining the project’s “complexity” is a really difficult task.
“It is a tricky IP, and a very complex IP, and that’s what I love about it,” the actor and producer said. “The challenges that come with putting this on the page in a way that is doing justice to that complexity, that trickiness, and that nuance, is a challenge I’m enjoying enormously.”
There’s still no concrete release date for Amazon’s Warhammer TV series, but we hope that the show can release sometime before the decade is over.
