Gamers are so desperate for the next big thing that they will come in their droves to high quality PS4 and Xbox One games, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has told CVG.
“I wanted a transition [to the next generation] faster than what they did because when you wait eight years you have a few years that decline, because people have enough machines and games, so they are less interested in this industry,” explained Guillemot.
“What I’m happy with is, because we’ve been waiting for a long time, if we really come with high quality games then the public will come very quickly to buy them. So we will see a big increase in the market.”
Ubisoft is certainly setting itself to be a major player in the next generation with titles including Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed 4, The Division and The Crew all heading to PS4 and Xbox One. However, with the likes of Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed 4 coming to current systems too, gamers may not feel an urgency to jump to the next-gen.
