Free-to-play MMO Rift is now available on Steam, Trion Worlds has announced.

This means you can begin playing the MMO with no purchase cost and no subscription fee, all from within Valve’s Steam client.

Players can create their avatar and adventure with friends, including access to the game’s 16 major updates free of charge.

“Steam has been an amazing partner for Trion,” said Scott Hartsman, CEO of Trion Worlds. “When we first launched Rift, Steam’s dedicated community of gamers helped bring our vision of a dynamic, exciting world to life. We’re thrilled to now bring the free version of the game to the largest network of PC gamers online.”

Trion has also launched three Rift special editions: the Rift Ascended Edition £14.99, the Rift Patron Edition £29.99, and the Rift Ultimate Hardcore Patron Edition £75.99.
