If you ask anyone who played games during the Xbox 360/PS3 generation what their favourite Star Wars game was they’d probably say Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. However, if they didn’t say that they’d probably point to the immensely edgy late 2000s series Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. If you’re someone that loved the game on console or possibly didn’t get a chance to play it all those years ago, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 will be available for free later next month for Prime Gaming subscribers.

For Prime Gaming subscribers, fans of the series will be able to pick up the sequel to 2008’s The Force Unleashed for free on August 17 until the following month. If you currently don’t have a Prime Gaming subscription you’ll have to sign up to Amazon Prime to get access to the service. While The Force Unleashed 2 launched to a mixed reception from players there is undoubtedly some fun to be had with this game following the recent slew of amazing single-player focused Star Wars stories we’ve seen in recent years.

The game’s description reads; “In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, the world was introduced to Darth Vader’s now fugitive apprentice, Starkiller—the unlikely hero who would ignite the flames of rebellion in a galaxy so desperately in need of a champion.” It continues, “In the sequel, Starkiller returns with over-the-top Force powers and embarks on a journey to discover his own identity and to reunite with his one true love, Juno Eclipse.”

The Force Unleashed 2 might have had a mixed reception from players on launch but in the modern-day landscape of Star Wars games, it’s far more brutal than its current-day counterparts. In other recent news, Diablo 4 1.1.1 patch notes will finally add the sorcerer buffs fans have been dreaming of and Battlefield 2042 patch notes 5.2.0 set to introduce revamped Hourglass map.
