Playground Games has offered a peek at Forza Horizon 5‘s gameplay via the playable intro to psyche us up for the racer’s launch in November.

While the Forza Horizon series has a penchant for a slick introduction, the one shown off at last night’s Xbox Gamescom show may be its most OTT one yet. Dropped out of a moving plane(!) onto a volcano(!!) players kick off the game behind the wheel of its cover stars. These are the Mercedes-AMG ONE and the 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands.

It’s also a first taste of some of the other environments we’ve been shown so far, including a Porsche 911 Desert Flyer tearing through the jungle. We also get to experience some of the much-touted weather effects as we take a 2020 Corvette Stingray into a dangerous-looking dust storm. It’s all wrapped up by the aforementioned Mercedes-AMG ONE in a final race to the Horizon Festival itself.

It was also announced last night that there’ll be a special Limited Edition controller for the game. Inspired by the fireworks of the Horizon Festival, it features a transparent yellow finish. The rumble motors have lighting effects that play off the Xbox button, and there’s rubberised grips fashioned after car racing wheels. Nabbing the controller will also net you an exclusive Forza DLC car and victory emote in game.

You can check out both the controller and Forza Horizon 5 gameplay trailers below ahead of both of their arrivals on November 9. Forza Horizon 5 will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
