Epic Games confirms Fortnitemares event, hints at its release date

The annual Fortnitemares event is around the corner! Epic Games confirmed the event in its latest blog post while also hinting at the release date. Halloween in Fortnite is going to be fun once again, and besides gameplay changes, it will bring new Creative maps, free cosmetic items, and a lot of other content.

Thanks to Fortnite leaks, we already know one of the collaborations that will come with the event as well. Without further ado, let’s check everything that we know about Fortnitemares 2024 so far.

The Fortnitemares 2024 event begins in mid-October

In a recent blog post, Epic Games confirmed the release of the Halloween event in Fortnite. The post calls for players to create new islands in the game’s Creative mode. These islands need to have a spooky theme and take advantage of proximity chat, a new feature recently added to Fortnite. They also need to be submitted by October 7.

While Epic hasn’t confirmed the release date of the upcoming Fortnitemares 2024 event, we expect it to come out between October 11 and 15. The v31.40 update is scheduled for October 15, although the game developer may decide to add event files earlier and activate them on Friday, October 11. Either way, the event is approximately three weeks away.

Thanks to earlier leaks, we now know that the Fortnite x Saw collaboration will come out during Fortnitemares 2024. We currently don’t know what cosmetic items the collab will bring, but we expect at least one skin and a few other accessories, such as pickaxes and back blings. On top of this, Epic will add a new NPC during the event.

With the v31.30 Fortnite update coming on October 1, we’ll find out more information about Fortnitemares 2024 very soon. In the meantime, it’s time to celebrate Fortnite’s seventh birthday and unlock free rewards!
