Fortnite Chapter 5 – Season 4 has only been out for 10 days, yet it’s already received three different nerfs. On Monday night, Epic Games released another tweak, further reducing the effectiveness of War Machine’s Hover Jets. This is the second nerf the new Fortnite item received in only a couple of days, which is quite surprising.
Considering that the jetpack item was drastically nerfed, you may want to avoid picking it up in your next match. Let’s take a look at the latest changes in Fortnite.
War Machine’s Hover Jets received another massive nerf in Fortnite
War Machine’s Hover Jets is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining items in the new Fortnite season. It’s a new version of a jetpack, which is perfect for mobility. The item can be combined with weapons to be even more effective but there seems to be an issue with its boost function. Epic released the first nerf for this item last week, increasing the fuel consumption for boost and decreasing its speed.
It appears that the first nerf wasn’t good enough, since the Fortnite developer released another one. This time, the boost ability was further reduced, and the item is much worse than before. It’s apparent that Epic Games doesn’t want the new jetpack to have boosting capabilities, but hopefully, this will be the last nerf.
These are all the changes released with the latest hotfix:
- War Machine’s Hover Jets initial boost reduced by 60%
- Momentum when exiting hover reduced by 50%
- The item was removed from tournament playlists
The first major update of the new Fortnite season is scheduled for early September, yet Epic has already released numerous nerfs. The good news is that the new jetpack can still be used for hovering and taking ground advantage from enemies. However, the boosting feature should now only be saved for emergencies.
