V-Bucks are Fortnite’s premium currency, and it’s no surprise that many players have thousands of them. Purchasing cosmetic items is nearly impossible without them, yet the only way to get a lot of V-Bucks is by buying them for real money. Fortunately, Epic Games provides V-Bucks refunds from time to time, and another one was recently announced.

As many players are already aware, Epic accidentally released a Battle Pass item to the shop earlier this week. Considering that Battle Pass items are exclusive, this move caused a lot of backlash. However, it turns out that the game developer did this by accident. Due to this, the Fortnite item was removed from the shop, and players will receive a refund.

How to get a V-Bucks refund in Fortnite

On Thursday night, Epic Games accidentally released the Swim Tree Jam Track to the Fortnite Item Shop. This Jam Track was originally available in the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass. Due to this, the game creator shouldn’t have brought it back. Fortunately, Epic quickly realized the mistake, removing the item from the shop and making it unavailable for purchase.

Not only was the item removed from the shop, but it will also be removed from the Lockers next week. In other words, anyone who purchased the Jam Track will lose it. Once this happens, all Fortnite players who lost the item will get a V-Bucks refund, Epic clarified.

It’s important to note that this won’t affect the Battle Pass reward. Anyone who unlocked the Jam Track in the pass will keep it. Furthermore, the exact date of the Fortnite refund is also unknown. However, considering that the next major update is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, this is when we expect it to happen.

This is not the first time that Epic accidentally released a Battle Pass item to the shop and it likely won’t be the last. While accidents happen, the game developer has always quickly reacted and removed the accidental releases while providing Fortnite players with V-Bucks refunds. After all, Battle Pass items are exclusive, and none of them will come to the Item Shop.
