Fortnitemares 2024 update dropped on October 12 and brought plenty of new collabs and content to the Fortnite island for players to explore. Part of that was adding two new bosses and new NPCs on the map that loopers can interact with.
One of those NPCs is Mephisto who brings a unique mechanic to make a deal with him in exchange for a free weapon or rebooting your teammates. However, this NPC unlike others cannot be hired or eliminated since it has a shield barrier around him.
Still, some Fortnite players have found a way to bypass his immortality factor and lay waste on the Marvel devil sitting at The Underworld POI.
Fortnite trick using Marvel weapon eliminates Mephisto NPC
Several Fortnite players such as Rezztro shared a clip on X where they showed a method using Captain America’s Shield to eliminate the Mephisto NPC. To begin with, the player found the shield at a nearby location or from an Avengers Chest on the island.
Once you have that, head to The Underworld POI and proceed inside the main Throne Room where you’ll find Mephisto sitting on a throne. Walk towards him and stand behind his throne, while equipping the Captain America’s Shield in your inventory.
As soon as you equip it, walk to the side of the throne while still behind it and throw the shield in front of you. Then quickly walk back to the center of the throne as the shield returns to your hand. When it does so, it will deal 30 damage to Mephisto, hence penetrating the barrier that protects him.
Do this multiple times until his health drains to zero and Mephisto is eliminated. This trick shocked Fortnite players as they rarely resort to using Captain America’s Shield this season.
Now with this trick, some players are planning to “eliminate Mephisto” at the beginning of each match so their opponents cannot get a quick reboot for their teammates from the devil.
