Fortnite developer Epic Games has prepared a lot of new content to release soon. The next season begins in early November, followed by Chapter 6. Besides these, the popular video game will get many new smaller updates that will bring new cosmetics, features, and collaborations. One of these new features was recently revealed by the game creator.
The upcoming feature is something many Fortnite players have requested for a long time and will drastically benefit the community.
Fortnite is bringing a useful feature next season
The evolution of Fortnite has been fun to watch. It went from being a simple battle royale game in 2017 to an amazing multiverse in 2024. Over these seven years, Epic has added numerous new features to the game, making it more amazing than ever. Fortnite still reigns the battle royale genre and gets millions of daily active users, so it’s no surprise that its developer will keep releasing new features.
Epic recently announced a massive change that will drop with the next Fortnite season. The size of the game will be drastically reduced, which will benefit all the players, especially those who need extra space on their disks.
Hypex, the most popular Fortnite leaker, revealed even more information about the upcoming feature. According to the leaker, Epic will release a “thin Fortnite client” that will bring the following:
- Reduced size of the game
- The lobby (locker, shop, etc.)
- Option to download game modes separately
This is something that Epic Games announced back in 2022, and there is no doubt that this new feature will be popular. Essentially, players will download the most basic version of Fortnite that only has the lobby, and then they’ll be able to download game modes separately, such as Battle Royale, Reload, LEGO Fortnite, and so on.
The upcoming feature will likely make updates much smaller and faster. However, we will have to wait for the new season to come out and find out everything about this amazing change. The next Fortnite season is scheduled to come out on November 2 and will bring the recreation of Chapter 2.
