Fortnite has tons of emotes that have been released over the years. From iconic dances to rare actions, the community has seen them all and the ones that haven’t returned to the shop, like Orange Justice, hold an OG status and are deemed rare.

On the other hand, Icon Series emotes are based on actual musical artists and dance steps performed on their songs. After the release of Fortnite Festival, such emotes have been appearing quite often in Fortnite, and thanks to TikTok, viral dance moves are becoming dances in the game.

With the ongoing Halloween update, Fortnite players were expecting an Icon Series emote for one of the fan-favorite singers and apparently, when it dropped in the Item Shop with the October 17 reset, it wasn’t received well by fans.

Fortnite players slam Epic for speeding up Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso in Icon Series emote

Viral pop singer Sabrina Carpenter has her songs as Jam Tracks in Fortnite and one of her popular songs Espresso was even the track featured in the Reload mode trailer.

Now fans have been waiting for the song to arrive as a Jam Track and emote in Fortnite but when it arrived in today’s shop reset, the song in the Caffeinated emote was a sped-up version from TikTok instead.

As a result, several fans were outraged by this move and felt like Epic “botched” what could have been an excellent Fortnite emote. One such player said, “It sounds awful sped up.” Another user wrote, “Thanks for saving my V-Bucks, Epic! Way to ruin the whole emote with that stupid chipmunk voice lol.”

A Sabrina Carpenter fan stepped in to clarify the reason behind the track choice and commented, “So there’s a sped-up version of the song called Double Shot and that’s what this is. But it still sounds horrible.”

Another emote called Sonic Surfer which was released earlier this year is also based on Sabrina’s song Feather and has the normal speed version of the original track, which made “no sense” to some fans.

The Caffeinated emote can be bought from the Fortnite Item Shop for 500 V-Bucks and will rotate out of the shop on October 20, 2024.

While you’re here, check out another player who used an emote to travel the entire island, for a reason that’s as absurd as it gets.
