Epic Games has pinned a September 27 release date to the highly anticipated sixth season of Fortnite.
Details are still being kept largely under wraps at this point, although a few things have happened as of late. Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard about the mysterious purple cube, which has been colloquially dubbed Kevin by fans.
Arriving after a lightning strike in August, Kev spent its time rolling around the map, allowing players to interact with it in various ways. For example, it would boost your shields if you stood harmlessly next to it, but would knock you back and inflict damage if you attacked the object.
Eventually, Kev ended its journey at Loot Lake, where it melted and turned the water purple. Not only that, but it transformed the entire lake into a massive trampoline. Nice!
Still, don't get too ahead of yourself here. Fortnite season five is still alive and kicking, and there's a huge boost on XP for matches going on right now until 1.00pm BST on September 24.
Season 6 is now dropping from the Battle Bus on September 27.
Celebrate its arrival and unlock those final Battle Pass rewards with an additional 400% Match XP all weekend, from now until September 24 at 8 AM ET (1200 GMT). Glide into the party!
