The return of old Fortnite Battle Passes might be around the corner. Epic Games is considering allowing players to unlock these older cosmetics, which have become very rare over the past few years. This is especially true for early Chapter 1 passes, since a lot of time has passed since then.
At the moment, Epic is surveying players about the return of these passes. If the community shows interest in this, we might see the long-awaited Fortnite feature by the end of the year, possibly with the release of Chapter 7 in December.
Fortnite is considering making old Battle Passes available once again
The latest Fortnite survey shows many potential benefits that could come to the Crew subscription. Some interesting things that Epic is considering are discounts for multi-month subscriptions and more V-Bucks each month. However, many players will be glad to hear that the game developer may bring back old Battle Passes as well.
The recent survey allows players to vote for a feature that would allow them to “claim previously unclaimed Battle Pass cosmetics.” While this is quite vague, it’s clear that Epic Games is considering rewarding players for their support via Fortnite Crew. However, this also sounds as if the benefit would only affect players who previously purchased the Battle Pass but did not complete it in time.
Marvel Rivals, one of the most popular games in 2025, has a similar system. Players who purchase the Battle Pass get to keep it forever and progress through it even after a season ends. This removes the FOMO factor from the game and allows players to progress at their own pace.
Epic made it clear that older Fortnite Battle Passes will return, but only starting with Chapter 5 – Season 4. To be more specific, cosmetics from older passes may come to the Item Shop, but not before 18 months have passed since they first came out.
