The Fortnite OG Season has brought many fantastic things back. For the first time, Epic Games brought back the Chapter 1 map, letting veteran players relieve their memories of the early game. However, the videogame developer also removed an important feature, which is not something that sits well with the community.

With the release of Chapter 2 in October 2019, Epic added bot lobbies to Fortnite. The chapter of the game added skill-based matchmaking as well, which turned out to be a rather controversial addition. However, the latest Fortnite season came with a couple of adjustments that may not have been necessary.

Here’s all you need to know.

Does Fortnite OG Season have bot lobbies?

Unfortunately, the current Fortnite season doesn’t have bot lobbies. This is one of the biggest changes Epic Games recently implemented, and many players are not happy with it. This also means that new players will not go straight into bot lobbies anymore.

This is a shocking change since many players used Fortnite bot lobbies. At the moment, only new players may enter bot lobbies. All other players will be matched up against real players. However, while this change is controversial, it also makes a lot of sense.

Epic Games likely removed bot lobbies to reduce the server load. With bot lobbies, one player can enter one session and be matched up against 99 bots. With millions of players playing at the same time, it would be theoretically possible to create millions of different sessions, which would put a massive load on servers.

This also means that the previous methods to enter bot lobbies no longer work in the Fortnite OG Season. However, Creative maps with bots still work, and new players can use them to practice skills and learn the map. With Fortnite Chapter 5 around the corner, it will be interesting to see if Epic Games brings back bot lobbies.
