The next Fortnite season is set to arrive on May 2. With Season 2 halfway done, Epic Games is slowly getting everything ready for the next one. The latest update brought a lot of interesting things, including a big leak that reveals the future of Fortnite. Epic seemingly confirmed this leak by revealing the update schedule for the next few months.

In this article, we will take a deeper look at the latest Fortnite leak and everything that it’s revealed. If it turns out to be accurate, which seems to be the case, the future of the game will be reshaped by it.

The next Fortnite season will be the shortest, leak shows

Earlier this month, several leakers claimed that Fortnite Chapter 6 could be longer, lasting for six seasons in total. Considering that the last three chapters had four seasons each, this was certainly a big change. However, it turns out that the current chapter might not be longer than the previous one. Instead, it may have more seasons, but they will be shorter.

According to the latest leak, the next Fortnite season will have a Star Wars theme. However, the season will last for only a bit over a month, making it the shortest regular season in the game’s history. So far, only throwback seasons, such as Chapter 2 Remix, have lasted for a month. Other seasons usually last for approximately two and a half to three months.

Epic Games confirmed that the next season will begin on May 2, with Season 4 starting on June 8. At the moment, it’s unknown what the Fortnite creator plans to do by the end of the year. However, there is a good chance that the upcoming season will completely change Fortnite, as Epic may decide to keep releasing more shorter seasons in the future, making the game even more dynamic.

With Season 3 arriving in early May, we should get official confirmation about its theme and duration in late April.
