The new Fortnite season will set the stage for something we’ve never seen before. Epic Games will bring the Star Wars universe to the world of battle royale, and it will be glorious. The season will only be five weeks long, yet packed with content. Some of this content will completely change the game, and it will be interesting to see how players will adapt to it.
Epic is known for making bold moves, which is a big reason why Fortnite has become so popular. Despite this, it’s still shocking to learn that the new season will not have shotguns. Yes, you read that right.
The next Fortnite season will not have any shotguns
When Fortnite Chapter 6 – Season 3 drops on Friday morning, its loot pool will not have a single shotgun. Yes, there will be a couple of close-range weapons, such as submachine guns and blasters, but no shotties. For the first time ever, Epic will remove these popular weapons from the loot pool, which will set an interesting precedent.
As Epic revealed, these are the weapons that will be available in the new season:
- 1x PISTOL: DL-44 Blaster
- 1x SMG: CR-2 Blaster
- 2x CLOSE RANGE: ACP & BARM-ST12 Scatter Blasters
- 1x MEDIUM RANGE: DLT-19 Blaster
- 1x LONG RANGE: IQA-11 Marksman Blaster
- 1x ALL-PURPOSE: A280-CFE Blaster
In addition to these items, Epic will also release Lightsabers and several utility items, including healing potions. Thermal Imploder is a new item coming in Season 2, which will be similar to Thermite, while Lightsabers will have special abilities, such as Force Push and Force Lightning.
While the first week of the season will have no shotguns, this may change in the future. Epic will drop new content weekly, adding new items, map changes, skins, and more. Due to this, we expect a new shotgun to come later in the season.
