Former Epic Games employee reveals mysterious Fortnite device

Epic Games has released many mysteries in Fortnite Battle Royale. It all began with the Wailing Woods bunker, a mystery that took nearly four years to unfold. However, it turns out that the video game developer has prepared another mystery, which was recently teased by a former employee.

Jack Bohm is a former Epic Games employee who worked as a concept artist. During his tenure with the Fortnite developer, Bohm was asked to design a unique earpiece for several characters. The earpiece was used by many iconic characters, including Midas, yet there’s more than meets the eye.

The concept artist shared some interesting details regarding the device, but wasn’t allowed to reveal everything about it.

This Fortnite mystery will unfold in the future

Jack Bohm shared his interesting Fortnite project on X (formerly Twitter), revealing the mysterious earpiece. The earpiece is used by several important characters, from Midas and Brutus to Lynx and Meowscles. Bohm worked alongside Donald Mustard, Epic’s former Chief Creative Officer, on the project.

The concept artist, who currently works for Noodle Cat Games, revealed that the earpiece went beyond Fortnite. According to his X post, the earpiece was a gateway into mysterious things. Unfortunately, the former Epic Games employee is not able to provide more details.

Interestingly, the talented concept artist shared this shortly after the release of the v26.30 Fortnite update. The update has added a lot of new content to the video game, including a couple of hints regarding the return of the old Fortnite map.

While the former Epic employee is not at liberty to share more details, the latest Fortnite mystery may be somehow connected to the first chapter. While most of the characters wearing the earpiece were introduced in Chapter 2, some of them, like Lynx, were introduced in Chapter 1.

At the beginning of the game, there were no Ghost or Shadow organizations. Despite not having many characters, the storyline was interesting and it was all about The Seven. The earpiece was first spotted in the Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2 trailer, and it seems that it was used to call agents to the meeting. However, we’ll have to wait to find out what’s really behind the mysterious device.
