Fortnite is reportedly working on a massive new game mode that could change everything we know about the battle royale. In December 2024, Epic Games released the Ballistic mode, adding the first-person perspective to the game for the first time. Now, it appears that we will get a full-size battle royale mode with this perspective.
According to a new leak, the upcoming mode will be a mix of Reload, Battle Royale, and Ballistic game modes. This mashup sounds exciting, especially for those who already enjoy first-person combat, so let’s check out everything that is waiting for us.
Fortnite is getting another first-person mode
The leak comes from Wenso, who is a reputable leaker. He claims that Epic Games is working on another first-person mode, yet the mode will be unique. Unlike Ballistic, a mode that features tactical combat on small maps, this one will use the Reload map. At the same time, the mode will feature Ballistic weapons and gadgets.
The upcoming Fortnite mode also has a “build free” tag, although it’s currently unknown what exactly this means. However, there is a chance that the mode will feature building, which would make it even more awesome.
In the first few days of Chapter 7, Fortnite only had Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. Fortunately, Blitz and Reload will return on Thursday, December 4, while OG and Delulu will come back in the second week.
The release date of the new first-person mode is currently unknown. However, there is a chance that the mode will debut during the Winterfest event. After all, Epic tends to add lots of new content during this annual event, and a new limited-time game mode certainly sounds like a fun idea, especially on a winter-themed map.
