Fortnite’s latest update brought an Expert mode, which makes the game much more challenging. The mode was added with the v36.30 update on July 29 and is currently available on public servers. In this article, we will explain everything you need to know about the Expert mode in Fortnite. However, keep in mind that getting a Victory Royale will be much harder when you enable it!

What is an Expert mode in Fortnite?
With the release of Chapter 2 in 2019, Epic Games added bots in Fortnite. These AI-controlled players are in the game to make it easier for players, especially for beginners. Furthermore, bots reduce matchmaking times and allow players from smaller regions to play without waiting for too long. In Expert mode, things are much different.
Once you enable the Expert mode in Fortnite, you will completely disable bots. In other words, every opponent you meet in the game will be a real player. The Expert mode is currently available in the Duos playlist for Fortnite OG, but Epic Games intends to enable it for other game modes and playlists in the future.
Beating bots is quite simple, which is not the case with real players. The Expert mode allows players to relive Fortnite from Chapter 1, which had no bots and no skill-based matchmaking. Due to this, getting a Victory Royale is much more brutal.
The next Fortnite season is set to come out on Thursday, August 7. If the Expert mode gains popularity by then, it won’t be surprising if Epic enables it for all the other popular game modes. For now, we can test it in Fortnite OG and see how it plays out.
