Fortnite Chapter 6 – Season 3 is currently in its fourth week. The season came out on June 7, and surprisingly, it will be one of the shortest seasons of all time. Most seasons last between two and a half to three months. However, the current one will last only two months.
Interestingly, Epic Games made this season even shorter than initially planned. When it first came out, Season 3 was scheduled to end on Friday, August 8. This date has changed, as the game developer slightly adjusted the date, making the season shorter. This ending date will affect both the Battle Royale and the OG Season.
When does the current Fortnite season end?
The new ending date of Fortnite Chapter 6 – Season 3 is now Thursday, August 7. In other words, Epic Games will conclude the current season 24 hours earlier than previously planned. This means that both the Battle Royale and OG Season will end on Thursday, giving players slightly less time to complete the new Battle Pass.
The game developer posted this information on X (formerly Twitter), but has not revealed the reason for it. However, the latest Fortnite update added some new files that hint at an event coming at the end of the season. If this turns out to be the case, Epic may release the event on Thursday night and have a longer downtime to prepare for the release of Season 4.
The company is currently on a summer break, and we likely won’t get more information about the event until mid-July. Interestingly, the next Fortnite season is set to be one of the longest, receiving six major updates and lasting for more than three months. After that, Epic will release another mini-season, likely with The Simpsons theme, before we move into Chapter 7.
