Epic has seemingly taken fans responses on board and reduced the prices of some of the car bundles in Fortnite following their less-than-ideal debut in Rocket Racing last week.
The company made the announcement via the game’s official social media channels, declaring that they were “making a U-Turn” and adjusting the prices of the two most expensive bundles. Namely, the Diesel bundle has now been reduced from the eye watering 4000 V-Bucks to 2500 V-Bucks, and the Jager and Cyclone bundles have been slashed from 2500 V-Bucks to a much more palatable 1500 V-Bucks.
To catch you up, the new cars were launched as part of the new racing-themed Fortnite game Rocket Racing, that lets players race around a number of tracks made in Fortnite. Cars function similar to player skins from traditional Fortnite in the sense of cosmetics, but have a unique aspect in that they also become available to players in Rocket League with linked accounts as well. However, their initial prices put them around $36 (£28.71) for just one car.
If you previously bought the bundles at the higher price point, don’t fret – as Epic say they will refund purchases with V-Bucks in their account “within a week”. While many in the community are pleased at this turn of events, some still feel that the price of the car bundles – as well as the music bundles for Fortnite Festival – are still a little too high.
