Fortnite’s latest collaboration doesn’t seem to be a big hit among its players. With the release of the v30.30 update on Tuesday, Epic Games added a Tesla Cybertruck to the popular game. Interestingly, the controversial vehicle is a free reward. However, many players still dislike it and don’t want to add it to their accounts.

Unlocking Cybertruck in Fortnite is a simple process that doesn’t require a lot of effort. Despite this, the electric pickup truck was slammed by many members of the community, including a Fortnite producer.

The Fortnite x Cybertruck collab is silly, according to the game producer

Tesla’s Cybertruck has been one of the most controversial vehicles over the past few years. While it has many fans, some people wouldn’t drive it even if it was free. This is certainly a case in Fortnite, as the addition of the vehicle has caused a lot of backlash. Kyle Wynn, an Epic Games producer who’s worked on Fortnite Festival, isn’t impressed by the latest collab either.

“That truck looks f*****g silly,” Wynn posted on X (formerly Twitter). The game producer also took a shot at Elon Musk, the majority owner of Tesla, and endorsed shooting these vehicles on sight.

Back in 2019, Musk clarified that Tesla does not advertise or pay for endorsements. Instead, the company uses the potential advertising budget to make its products great. However, it appears that this strategy has changed recently, as Tesla had to pay to feature the Cybertruck in Fortnite. To make things worse, the vehicle is free, meaning that the car manufacturer won’t get direct benefit from its sales.

The latest Fortnite update added a few more collaborations, including Fall Guys and Adidas. On top of that, new Deadpool and Wolverine skins are coming to the game soon, which is something many players are excited about.
