Epic Games has rolled out another weekly update for battle royale juggernaut Fortnite, with content update 5.0 bringing a pair of new weapons to the table.

First up is a basic Submachine Gun, which looks to be modeled on the MP5 that has basically appeared in every shooter ever made. The Submachine Gun comes in Common, Uncommon, and Rare flavours, and boasts a 30-round magazine and can be found as regular floor loot or in chests.

The new gun is available in battle royale, although Save the World players aren't being left out in the cold, with the Typewriter Assault Rifle now up for grabs.

Speaking of Save the World, Fortnite's paid-for game mode is now going for 50% off the usual asking price until July 30.

In case you missed it, Fortnite is slowly taking over the world. It's beating main rival and chicken dinner-giving shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and even cropped up in the World Cup final, when a French forward celebrated a penalty by doing a Take the L dance.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One.
