Another Fortnite season is out and it brings an updated map. The in-game island has gone through a major overhaul, as Epic Games added several new locations to it. The western part of the island received the biggest changes, bringing four new POIs. The rest of the map was also updated, as there are now new vaults, landmarks, and more.

Let’s take a deeper look into all the major map changes and see what changed with the new Fortnite season.

Where to find new places on the Fortnite map?

With the release of Chapter 6 – Season 2, Epic Games changed four named locations on the island. This includes Warrior’s Watch, the place where the last live event happened. In addition to this, the game developer removed Burd, replacing it with a new landmark.

These are the biggest map changes with the latest Fortnite update:

These new places bring unique features to the game and perfectly fit the season’s theme. Here is a quick description of them:

  • Shiny Shafts – Gold mine with multiple levels
  • Outlaw Oasis – High-end luxury spa and resort
  • Crime City – Urban, crime-themed location
  • Lonewolf Lair – Giant mansion, the residence of Flethcher Kane

Shattered Span is now once again called Shining Span, as the bridge in this area was fully reconstructed after Godzilla’s attack. The train also received a major update, as it now has a vault inside of it!

In addition to these changes, a couple of other places on the island were also updated. Furthermore, the new Fortnite season will bring four major updates, and we expect the map to slightly change with them. These updates will be released every two weeks on average.
