The next major Fortnite update is set to come out on Thursday, October 10. Epic Games will release it at 4 AM, followed by server downtime. Considering how big the update will be, we might be looking at an extended downtime that will last for at least three hours.
Before the v37.40 update comes out, we will share the early patch notes. Some of these come directly from Epic Games, while others have been leaked. So let’s take a look at what’s waiting for us on Thursday!
Early patch notes for the next Fortnite update
The highlight of the next Fortnite update is the KPop Demon Hunters collaboration. It will bring three new skins, emotes, accessories, and even a new game mode. The release of this collab also marks the first phase of the Fortnitemares event, which will get even more content later in October.

The upcoming Fortnite update should add lots of content for the upcoming Halloween event. However, this content won’t be released just yet. Epic will release another update next week, and this will likely be the official start date of Fortnitemares 2025.
In the meantime, a new Horde Rush mode will be available as part of the KPop Demon Hunters collaboration. Epic has prepared lots of new skins coming this month, including Ghostface and Jason Voorhees, and all of them should come out periodically throughout the Halloween event.
