Developers Far From Home have offered up a fresh look at gameplay from their upcoming sci-fi survival game, Forever Skies.

The extended gameplay trailer gives us a good idea of what to expect in this game from the former Dying Light & Dead Island developers. You’ll play as a lone survivor searching for answers in an earth destroyed by an ecological disaster. Along the way, you’ll have to scavenge resources, both on foot and from aboard their adaptable airship.

You’ll be collecting samples, researching technology and interfacing with nanobot repair systems while aboard the ship. These will then give you what you need to fabricate more survival equipment that you can then take with you. You’ll also be growing food and such on your airship, pretty essential if you want to survive, given the mysterious dust has choked the life out of the plants below.

What has survived however, has become dangerous. So you’ll need to defend yourself too. Expect plenty to discover, and maybe some stuff you’ll wish you left undiscovered, as you explore the ruins of what was once Earth. Check out the new Forever Skies gameplay trailer for yourself down below.

Forever Skies will be coming to Steam Early Access in 2022, with a console early access release to follow. There’s no details which ones just yet, but expect that info in due course.
