Final Fantasy XIII-2’s story will have mysteries and won’t be straightforward, according to an interview in Dengeki (reported by Siliconera). The article also states that XIII-2 won’t have the pop-like feel of X-2.
The interview with Producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama also reveals information on the plot of the sequel. Story details are still thin, but players will be searching for a gate to an invisible world called Bunibelle. Goddess, Etro, will be a key character in the story, while many of XIII’s cast will return.
We’re mixed about the non-pop feel to XIII-2. While we know many people didn’t like it in FFX-2, it also had a lot of fans who enjoyed the quirky style.
