So here’s the bad news: we still don’t know when Final Fantasy 15 is coming out. But on the plus side, whenever it does land, PS4 and Xbox One owners seem set to be in for a visual treat.
A new trailer for the upcoming JRPG dropped overnight, reintroducing fans to four of the game’s protagonists as they nip about the open world environment in an open top car.
Players appear to be able to explore the game world in the sports car this time around, stopping off to beat up baddies, marvel at gigantic bosses or just admire the view. You’ll also get a glimpse at the game’s battle system, which adopts Kingdom Hearts’ combat for some sword-swinging gameplay.
A tease towards the end of the trailer suggests fans won’t have too much longer to wait for the full game either, with closing comments from the game’s main character stating: “It’s been a long time coming… Almost there.”
But if you just can’t wait for however long that might be, access to a playable demo of FFXV will come included with PS4 and Xbox One copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD when it goes on sale on March 20, 2015.
The demo was first rumoured yesterday with Square Enix confirming its existence earlier this morning. The demo will reportedly include elements “from the opening sections of the full game, but alters story progression and more to create a unique first-play experience.”
To download the demo you’ll have to redeem a voucher code included with Type-0 HD, although an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
It was also revealed this morning that director Tetsuya Nomura had left the project to focus on Kingdom Hearts 3.
