EA has today announced the development of EA Sports Fight Night Round 4 at EA Canada in Vancouver. The popular boxing game will return in 2009 for Xbox 360 and PS3 and promises the most realistic “in the ring” experience to date.

“The EA Sports Fight Night franchise has always been synonymous with quality and innovation that raised the bar for the sports videogame genre”, said Kevin Wilkinson, Executive Producer, EA Sports. “EA Sports Fight Night Round 3 was a platform defining game as the industry transitioned to next generation consoles. EA Sports Fight Night Round 4 will change how boxing games are played and measured in the future.”

EA says the game will feature a re-written gameplay engine and a variety of fighting styles to authentically emulate the greatest fighters of all time. The new physics-based animation system will mean that no fight will ever be the same, with true to life punch impacts and movement. EA claims that fatigue, adrenaline, footwork and timing will all come into play as you try to out box your opponent.

EA Sports Fight Night Round 4 will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2009.
