FIFA 14 on PS Vita won’t offer any of the improvements featured in versions coming to PS4, Xbox One, PS3 or Xbox 360, but will instead be pretty much the same game as FIFA 13, itself almost identical to launch game FIFA Football.

“There will be a Vita version [of FIFA 14], and it’ll be the same great gameplay,” EA Sports producer David Rutter told Eurogamer at Gamescom.

Asked if that means it’ll essentially be the same game as launch title FIFA Football, Rutter repeated: “It’s the same great gameplay and new kits.”

And just to be clear, Rutter said one more time: “It’s the same great gameplay. And obviously with any new kits.”

Rutter said he has nothing to do with pricing so was unable to comment on whether the game will be offered at a budget price.

FIFA 14 for PS Vita is without a firm release date.

Releasing pretty much the same game as FIFA Football and passing it off as a new experience was pretty shocking for FIFA 13, but to do it again with FIFA 14 is unbelievable, and something which PS Vita owners shouldn’t stand for.

GAME is currently asking £39.99 for what is pretty much the same game as FIFA 13 which you can buy from the same store for £17.99.
