FIFA 13 has been confirmed for the Wii U, with Official Nintendo Magazine getting the scoop on the EA Sports title.

According to ONM, FIFA 13 on Wii U producer Matt Prior told the publication that the game will look best on Wii U.

“It’s on a par with 360 and PS3 and we were even able to make some key graphical improvements,” said Prior. “We focused on areas that would have the most impact on the game.”

The magazine (and website) also reveals that the Wii U version of this year’s highly anticipated FIFA title will include numerous uses of the touchscreen controller, including Touchscreen Tackling, Touchscreen Passing, and Touchscreen Shooting. You’ll also use the controller’s screen to access the Manager Hub, make use of the new penalty and free kick system, and adjust tactics.

No release date for FIFA 13 on Wii U has been announced. The game arrives on all other platforms on September 28.

The magazine has the first screenshots of FIFA 13 on Wii U, but we expect it’ll look a lot like the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions seen in the gameplay trailer below.
