Electronic Arts has today announced that a demo for its upcoming Xbox 360 release of FIFA 07 will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace in October. The news comes as part of an announcement regarding the game’s presence at X06, where press will be able to play the game on the show floor.

One of the biggest changes to this next generation FIFA title is the move from traditional animation to a physics-based animation system, which EA claims creates true-to-life movement. Also, for the first time ever, the ball has its own independent physics engine, resulting in unpredictable gameplay and a more natural feel to shots and passes.

The online mode has also been given an overhaul since the previous edition and now features support for four-on-four online play (two consoles, each with four players). The game will also include live updates, with real-world results, a news ticker and a weekly podcast.

FIFA 07 is scheduled for release for Xbox 360 on October 27, with the current-gen versions available from Friday.
