Ubisoft has released a new patch for Far Cry 5 that gives the popular open world title a 60 FPS boost on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This latest update will apparently apply to all of the game modes available within as well as its three expansions in Hours of Darkness, Lost on Mars, and Dead Living Zombies.

According to the official developer blog post, those playing on Xbox Series X will also be able to run the game with a 3840×2160 and 4K resolution. Xbox Series S users, on the other hand, can launch it at a resolution of 1920×1080 while PlayStation 5 players can explore its world at 2880×1620.

In addition to the visual improvements, the development team has also noted that they’ll be making the game free-to-play as part of the game’s fifth anniversary celebration. If you haven’t experienced the exciting action that Far Cry 5 has to offer yet, then there’s never been a better time to do so. Here’s when you’ll be able to start playing it for free.

When is the Far Cry 5 Free Weekend?

The Far Cry 5 free weekend will be held from March 23 to March 27 and those on current gen consoles will be able to enjoy the latest 60 FPS integration. If you enjoyed the game during this time and you buy it afterwards, your progress will also carry over so you won’t have to begin again.
