Far Cry 3, Ubisoft’s upcoming FPS sequel, will receive a multiplayer beta on Xbox 360 and PS3, the publisher has revealed. No firm date has been set, but the online test is due to start this summer.

Over a two-week period gamers will be able to take part in 16-player online matches, use six classes, test out numerous game modes and sample a collection of maps.

Currently you can register for the beta on the game’s Facebook page (500 places available) or buy a copy of Ghost Recon Future Soldier (in the US). More beta places will be available through other schemes.

Far Cry 3 is due for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on September 7.
