Following several successful video game TV adaptations, the next high-profile project set to follow in the footsteps of HBO’s The Last of Us and Peacock’s Twisted Metal is kicking off soon once Amazon’s Fallout TV show release date rolls around. Amazon Studios finally announced the series’ launch window, so we’ll cover it below to show you when you can start tuning into its post-apocalyptic antics.

Previously, details on the highly anticipated show remained scarce, as only details on some of its cast members, including Arcane actress Ella Purnell and Sons of Anarchy actor Walton Goggins, had been revealed. Now that the series producer has finally provided an exact release date through a thematic snippet, however, you’ll finally be able to mark your calendars ahead of time. Here’s precisely when you can expect it to drop.

Fallout TV show release date

The Fallout TV show release date will be on April 12, 2024, according to a video announcement from Amazon Studios. The short clip that the show’s production team provided depicted the video game’s famous mascot, Vault Boy, typing away on a terminal while the launch date flashed on top of his head. Unfortunately, information on the series’ length and premise has still not been provided at the time of writing.

What is the story of the Fallout TV show?

Though Amazon Studios has yet to confirm the show’s plot, we can make some assumptions based on the premise of the video games released so far. Most installments in the series to date often occur after a nuclear war, and we expect the show to remain faithful to Bethesda’s roots. There will likely also be depictions of several different vaults, much like in the video games, and illustrations of various mutated creatures that roam the overworld as well.

We also expect the show to have its own sets of unique cities and factions, much like the ones included in Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4, though these likely won’t be similar in name or appearance. As always, keep in mind that this is still merely speculation for the time being, as Amazon Studios hasn’t provided any concrete information yet.

Where to watch the Fallout TV show?

Since the Fallout TV show is an Amazon Studios production, you will be able to watch the post-apocalyptic series through the Amazon Prime Video streaming service. However, membership to this particular service isn’t like other platforms, as you will need to subscribe to Amazon Prime in order to gain access to it.
