The upcoming Fallout TV series on Amazon Prime appears to have found one of its lead actors, according to new reports.

Deadline reports that actor Walton Goggins will be taking on a lead role in the series. The actor has appeared in many roles over the years, including Sons of Anarchy, Ant Man and the Wasp and the 2018 Tomb Raider movie. Deadline believe that Goggins will be taking on a role as a Ghoul, one of the mutated humans from the long-running RPG series.

There’s not been any other casting or plot details on the series at this time. It’s interesting that they’re going for a Ghoul lead, as the games have traditionally followed Vault Dwellers as protagonists, but we’re sure there’s still plenty of cast members to fill out the ranks yet. Perhaps he’ll be playing a version of Fallout 4‘s Vault-Tec rep salesman whom (mild spoilers) you later find has become a ghoul? We’ll have to wait and see.

The Fallout TV series was first announced back in July 2020. Production ticked along quietly in the background, before it was confirmed to be entering production last month. That probably means we can expect more casting announcements in the next few months to join Goggins on the show.

There’s no broadcast date for the Fallout TV series just yet, but Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s Kilter Films are behind it. They’re the husband-and-wife team behind hit HBO series Westworld. Production already sounds like it’s already off to a promising start with this casting announcement, hopefully it continues in that vein and we hear more soon.
