Fallout 76 hasn't had an easy ride since its launch in November, and things are looking to get a little more heated with the possible introduction of loot boxes.

Nothing official has been confirmed by Bethesda yet, but a list of changes posted on Reddit detailing an incoming patch has seemingly outed the addition of something called lunchboxes. The changelog indicates that this feature will reward various gameplay buffs, such as damage increase and XP boosts.

Furthermore, user JesMaine notes that the Bethesda Atom Shop profile is tagged in the lines of code relating to lunchboxes.  In other words, it looks like you'll use Atoms to purchase these premium loot boxes, which means it pay-to-win.

Lunchboxes have already been employed by Fallout Shelter, while Atoms are the form of currency that Fallout 76 current utilises and are earned in-game.

Fallout 76 was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in November, although Josh reckons you are better off saving your money for something else.
