Microsoft has announced a pre-order promotion for Xbox 360 exclusive Fable II, in which selected retailers will be offering free downloads of the Fable II Pub Games for Xbox LIVE Arcade when they are released in August.
We’re not aware of any retailers currently supporting the promotion, but presumably it’ll be all the major stores. Pre-ordering the game will save you the 800 MS Points the Fable II Pub Games would usually cost.
The games, Keystone, Spinnerbox and Fortune’s Tower, will enable players to earn gold for their upcoming Fable II adventure.
Microsoft has also revealed that Fable II will be released later this year in two editions. In addition to the standard edition gamers will be able to spend a little more for the collector’s edition which will include a bonus making of disc, a collectible Hobbe figure, additional in-game content and a LIVE trial card.
There’s no confirmed release date for Fable II, but the most recent Lionhead developer diary strongly hinted at an October release, a date several retailers are also listing.
Expect further details to be announced at E3 next week.
