Whilst the game was officially announced for the Xbox 360 at E3 with a CG trailer, very little information was released. Finally some titbits of information have emerged. First off, development of the game is going well, with the team delivering regular builds known as milestones to Microsoft Game Studios. The development team has been meeting its deadlines and so far MGS have been happy with what they’ve seen.
The update does eventually go in to some detail about the game. The story for the game is said to be complete, and as we’re already aware is set around 500 years after events in Fable. What this means is we’ll “get a story that is not only longer than the story from the original game but also one that’s a little bit more mature!”
Vantilburgh assures readers that he doesn’t mean mature in a GTA style, but does add that “some people might be shocked by what we have in stock for Fable 2 players.“
Story-wise this is a slightly different approach but you’ll like it, it has some rather cool twists to it. And I’m not talking about someone who rescues you at first and then betrays you, we’ve seen that a zillion times before, including in the original game,” writes Vantilburgh.
The update ends with this tantalising morsel: “we are really looking forward to a few gaming events that are taking place later this year. Stay tuned for more updates…” Does this mean we’ll be seeing Fable 2, perhaps in-game, at TGS and at X06? We hope so.
