While World of Warcraft is still a few months from release in Europe, the game has been available in the US for about a week. Obviously trying not to differ from other MMORPGs, the game has fallen victim to some bugs, causing problems for a few of the early adopters.

In a good will gesture, Blizzard will extend the trial period for any users who were unable to log into the games servers as a result of the games’ servers reaching their capactity.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and are dedicated to providing World of Warcraft players with the best play experience possible,” said a Blizzard representative, posting on the official WoW message board. “Therefore we’ll be adding a small trial-period extension for players who created accounts before or during the downtime. In the days ahead, we’ll provide additional details on how the trial-period extension will be determined.”

“As always, we appreciate your continued patience and support; we’re still monitoring the servers very closely and making adjustments as needed in order to ensure that World of Warcraft continues to run smoothly for everyone playing,” the rep added, clearly indicating that they are doing their best to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

World of Warcraft will be available in Europe sometime in 2005. Anyone thinking about importing the game should know that a valid US address is needed to register and for billing. GAME are currently exclusively handling pre-orders for the game in the UK, with a beta period – scheduled for December – being given to all who per-order.
