The former producer for Battlefield developer DICE and EA’s Visceral Games, Gordon Van Dyke, has joined Paradox Interactive.

Van Dyke has stated he moved to Paradox in order to re-locate to Sweden.

“During my time back in California [with Visceral], I married my girlfriend from Sweden and we had a baby. We decided it was best to raise her in Sweden.”

In an interview with Joystiq he stated he was introduced to the studio’s CEO Fred Wester through a friend, and was hired after an email introduction.

Speaking about his new role, he says it offers him “more room to explore, take risk, and work on creative niche IPs.”

Van Dyke has also revealed he will be working on Project Postman, a multiplayer game.

Van Dyke is known for his work on first-person shooters which seems faintly at odds with his new role in a studio with a tendency to lean toward niche PC titles. There’s still no explicit word on what Project Postman actually is, however we do know it’s being made in collaboration with Lead & Gold developer Fatshark.
