The 2017 version of Everybody’s Golf will see its online services shut down this September, Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed.

Gematsu spotted the announcement on the game’s PlayStation Store listing. It reads “Online servers for Everybody’s Golf will shut down on 30th September 2022. All online features (including online multiplayer modes) will cease on that date. You will still be able to play and enjoy the game in single-player offline modes.”

The seventh entry in the long-running series arrived on the PlayStation 4 in 2017. As well as teeing off for a few rounds of golf, the game offered fishing, swimming and an open-course design for the first time. Players could drive around the courses in golf carts, and find plenty of hidden treats.

A quick glance over the trophy list (thanks to our friends at PlayStationTrophies.org) reveals there’s a couple of online trophies that’ll presumably become unobtainable once services are shut down. They include the Online Debut bronze trophy, which would naturally also make the Platinum trophy unobtainable. Best you grab that quick then before the game goes offline for good.

The most recent entry in the series was Everybody’s Golf VR which launched for the PlayStation VR back in 2019. There’s been no word on any future instalments in the series as far as we can tell, which is a bit of a shame. For now, the next game golf fans can look forward to seems to be EA Sports PGA Tour, which was recently pushed back to next Spring.
