Mega Man Star Force for Nintendo DS will blend action and RPG elements offering exploration with fast-paced battles as players travel between the real world and virtual Wave world.

Set in the year 22XX, Mega Man Star Force introduces all-new characters and a new futuristic story. As Geo Stelar players must defeat a new breed of enemies that have emerged from the distant planet FM.

The game is being developed by the team behind the Mega Man Battle Network series and marks the start of a new era for Mega Man, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. In Mega Man Star Force players will explore towns and interact with people in the real world while the action will take place in the virtual Wave world.

Enemy encounters will play out on a three by five grid, where a portfolio of Battle Cards can be used, each with distinct attributes and attack powers. As the game progresses, players will gain new cards enabling players to create their own battle strategies.

The game will also feature online modes using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Players can join friends to create a “Brother Band” network where they can share cards and status upgrades.

Mega Man Star Force is scheduled to ship in North America in August and it’s likely a European release will follow.
