If you’ve been wondering if we’ll ever get news on a new Deus Ex game in the near future – don’t worry, you’re not alone as even the voice of Adam Jensen himself is wondering the same thing.

Voice actor Elias Toufexis was responding on Twitter to a fan’s question if we’d ever see another entry in the much-lauded sci-fi series, and specifically to continue the story of the Human Revolution and Mankind Divided protagonist. Alas, it seems he’s as much in the dark as the rest of us, as his response was simply “Ask Eidos Montreal and Embracer Group. I’m wondering the same thing.”

We’ve not had a new full Deus Ex game on home console since 2016’s Mankind Divided – despite the many fans of the cyberpunk (not that Cyberpunk) RPG clamouring for a new one in the interim. Of course, the license to the series was previously held by Square Enix, but was sold – along with Tomb Raider and a number of other series, as well as studios Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics – to the Embracer Group back in May of last year.

Since then, we’ve had it confirmed that we’re getting a new Tomb Raider game from Crystal Dynamics, but no official word on what Eidos Montreal are working on since the acquisition. There was a Bloomberg report late last year that claimed the developer is indeed working on the next Deus Ex game, but there’s been no confirmation of the veracity of that claim. The studio’s last major release was Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which arrived back in 2021.

For now, Deus Ex fans will have to wait a little longer to hear on the fate of their favourite series – but if news breaks of a new Deus Ex game, we’ll keep you in the loop.
