Epic Games has released Battle Breakers, a toony ‘hero collector’ RPG for PC and mobiles (via Polygon).

‘Monsters from space trapped the world’s greatest Heroes in technomagic crystal. Now it’s up to you to assemble the ultimate team of super warriors and take back your planet,’ Epic Games provided a blurb on its newest game. Battle Breakers has its players crawl dungeons, battle bosses, and rescue heroes with their own unique and strange abilities. It boasts over a thousand levels with varying themes and environments, and hundreds of warriors so that each player can craft their custom crew.

A passion project borne of a cluster of Epic Games developers, Battle Breakers was actually announced and soft-launched a little over two years ago. Extensive testing (and a dogged focus on Fortnite) meant that the game was kept ticking along until it was ready for worldwide release.

Battle Breakers is out now for PC and mobile platforms. Watch the launch trailer below.
