Sega and Amplitude Studios have revealed that the release for Endless Dungeon will be delayed until October 19, 2023. Th developers apparently made this decision in order to “provide the best possible roguelite experience” for their community and that “there’s still more work to do” before they can get there.

With the extra time they’ve been afforded, they’ll reportedly be taking community feedback into consideration to make it as enjoyable as possible. They would go on to mention that they would specifically be working on several important elements of the game, including “meta-progression, balancing, in-game economy, as well as loads of general polishing and bug-fixing.”

For those worried about the status of the game’s closed beta period, the developers have assured fans that “it will still be happening,” albeit at a date that’s much closer to the launch. According to Amplitude Studios, there is an “ongoing closed playtest with players from previous ‘OpenDevs’, but that they’ll be looking to include more players in the future.

In order to make up for this relatively significant delay, they’ve promised to provide three free additional skins for everyone that pre-ordered the game once it’s released. This reward will also be available for early buyers of the game, but only for a limited time.

Fans commenting under the official developer announcement are largely positive with most telling the devs to “take their time” with it. One player even said that “the game has a good core loop and good features” that everyone wants to play with, but that “it does need some more polish.”

The additional time that the Endless Dungeon delay has given Amplitude Studios will surely make the game into a much better creation. Hopefully, it will end up being a critical and commercial success upon release as the developers truly do seem to care about their project.
