A special ‘Free Play Weekend’ for The Elder Scrolls Online is due to kick off on PS4 and Steam tomorrow, November 20, Bethesda has confirmed. That’s a Wednesday. Three whole days before the weekend.

Hmm.

Nevertheless, the Free Play Weekend offers interested players unrestricted access to the entire Tamriel Unlimited base game, 500 free crowns to spend on in-game items, and the opportunity to carry progress over to the full game should you choose to buy it.

Taking part in the Free Play Weekend will also enter you into a competition to win a “Trip of a Lifetime”, where Bethesda promises to take five lucky players on a trip to one of five holiday locations, including the Swiss Alps, the Amazon, New Zealand or the African Safari. You can head through here for more details on that.

Information on a Free Play Weekend for Xbox One users is coming at a later date, Bethesda says.

The Elder Scrolls Online originally launched on PC in April 2014 before heading to console one year later. Its one of the few games to run at native 4K resolution on PS4 Pro.
