FromSoftware’s upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign won’t be just a one-and-done project. The new roguelike spin-off is planning to be supported by a number of DLC add-ons that can massively expand the game.
With the game already bringing a host of enemies from across Dark Souls and Elden Ring games, FromSoftware’s plans for DLC could make for the biggest Souls franchise game yet.
Elden Ring Nightreign DLC revealed
Spotted by PC Gamer, a recent update to the game’s Steam Store page revealed that FromSoftware has a strong post-launch content plan for the multiplayer game.
“Additional DLC — Additional playable characters and bosses,” read the game’s official store page.
Since being spotted by the outlet, the mention of additional DLC has been quickly removed. This could mean that the mention of downloadable content was a mistake, or that the game’s DLC plans are simply not ready to be revealed.
Nevertheless, it is a great sign that Elden Ring Nightreign will be supported with faster content updates than the original game. After all, players had to wait years for additional content to come to the first game, even if the eventual expansion was truly brilliant.
Until there’s an official confirmation from FromSoftware or publisher Bandai Namco, nobody can promise that DLC is coming to the game. However, even without that confirmation, it seems that the arrival of additional bosses and characters are very likely to arrive.
As for potential new content, there’s a lot of potential for Nightreign. With Dark Souls enemies already in the game on launch, there’s a possibility that FromSoftware could add elements from other games from the developer.
While Bloodborne Remastered doesn’t appear to be happening, despite the fact that Sony is DMCA-ing fan remasters, we could end up seeing enemies and bosses from that game in Nightreign, or even Demons’ Souls foes. Now, that would be awesome.
