Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising dated for May 10 release on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC

505 Games has announced that 2.5D side-scrolling action RPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising will launch on May 10, 2022.

The game takes place on the remote frontier of the Allraan known as New Nevaeh. There, a massive earthquake has revealed Runebarrows underneath the town, attracting treasure seekers, merchants and adventurers alike. Among these groups, three heroes including scavenger CJ, mercenary Garoo and deputy mayor Isha cross paths and find themselves teaming up to find treasure for their own individual goals.

You’ll be diving into these ruins as all three of these characters, each with their own traits. CJ’s good for diving in with quick strikes, Isha uses magic from afar, while Garoo wields a giant sword. You’ll be swapping between them, and even combining their abilities to use devastating Link Attacks. At the same time, you’ll be using the treasure you find to upgrade yourselves and the town.

The game is actually a prequel to upcoming RPG Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes. As a result, you’ll also get the chance to name certain weapons and delicacies, which we’re told will also carry over into the sequel when it arrives next year in 2023. Both games are a spiritual successor to classic 1997 PlayStation RPG Suikoden, with that game’s creator Yoshitaka Murayama also behind this new series.

You can check out 28 minutes of developer gameplay from the game in the video below. Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising arrives on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch & PC on May 10. The game will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.
